New on top, old on the bottom
New distance stop under the umbus
Brass stops are made for a reason. They have many advantages over the capralon originals. The originals are pulled out when clamped with a screwnut and it becomes problematic to catch a gap of 0.05-0.07 mm between the stop and the capstan. In addition, the originals have a flat slot for a screwdriver and, as a rule, it is not in very good condition and the screwdriver constantly falls out when adjusting. In our version, the stop has an internal hexagon, and the screwdriver does not fall out, which makes it convenient to adjust the gap. A polypropylene circle is inserted at the working end to stop the capstan end.
Specially designed to preserve the original belt. Nakamichi belts do not tear or leak; they simply stretch 3–7 mm of their folded length. Finding a modern belt that meets the required wow and flutter specifications is currently impossible, so continuing to use the old original belt is the best solution.
The plate features longitudinal slots for motor mounting, allowing the optimal belt tension to be achieved not only for the original belt but also for others within the range of 125–135 mm in folded length. Installation features: The plate may contact the additional spool motor cup, which must be removed. In the first years of production, this cup was used to reduce noise, but it was eventually discontinued as it proved unnecessary. Additionally, when installing our plate, the upper mounting post is not used because the repositioned motor blocks the hole. The plate's thickness, made of 3 mm D16T duralumin (as opposed to the original 2 mm aluminum), eliminates the need for the upper mount. A motor without an upper mounting point effectively dampens its own vibrations. Included in the kit: A 3 mm thick duralumin plate Two brass stops with nuts The new metal stops are designed for convenient and precise adjustment of axial clearance. Original plastic stops deform during nut fixation, making it extremely difficult to maintain a clearance of 0.05–0.01 mm.
